The primary function these systems do is Oxidation very well. They play a role in sanitation, but they are very efficient in Oxidation. They are considered a secondary system because they lack the ability to maintain a residue of sanitation, so for public safety they can not be a stand alone product.

One might ask why have two systems, is it worth it? Yes.
One reason is because they reduce your Oxidation and Sanitation cost 50 to 80% paying for themselves over time. Less buying and dispensing chlorine and if you have a salt cell less demand on it resulting in a longer life span.

In looking at the valve gained in public safety it is quite significant. When dealing with Crypto the sanitation standards are to raise levels to over 10 ppm for 24 hours. The pool is closed at this time and then the sanitation has to be reduced to a safe level to reopen th pool. With these oxidizers you can destroy this hidden danger much quicker eliminating the need to long term close down the pool.
